Grammys Recap...
Let's face it, you were probably more enthralled with American Idol last night-- it's the first Hollywood show, people-- than with actually watching the Grammys. But did you make any money backing the U2 train? Here's how the odds went down:
Record of the Year
•Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day (3/2): Green Day was bound to win something this year, and this was probably the one to get for them. You came out pretty good on this one, even if they were a hedge bet.
Album of the Year
•How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb - U2 (1/1): You doubled up on this one.
Song of the Year
•Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own - U2 (4/1): This came out of nowhere. Really. If this was a serious hedge bet for you, you got serious money.
Best Female Pop Vocal Performance
•Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson (3/2): There would've been something seriously wrong with the Academy if she didn't take this home. And, you know, it's kinda cool that an Idol took it all the way to the top.
Best Rock Album
•How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb - U2 (5/4): U2 just surprised everybody last night. Bono can stop being a megalomaniac now. And you got a nice chunk from this one.
Best Rock Song
•City of Blinding Lights - U2 (5/1): I don't even remember this song. But maybe the Academy felt bad about the whole Nobel Peace Prize snub. Like they need more awards. But 5 times your cash on top of what you bet? $20=$120 right there.
Best Rap Album
•Late Registration - Kanye West (1/3): Even just a little win is a little win.
Best Rap Song
•Diamonds from Sierra Leone - Kanye West (1/1): Another double-up. Who's got the bigger ego: Kanye or Bono? Discuss.
Best R&B Song
•We Belong Together - Mariah Carey (1/1): How long has it been since Mariah won? 16 years or something? She doubled you up here.
Best Country Song
•Bless the Broken Road - Rascal Flatts (1/1): This was pretty predicable as well. Pretty boys win. And you double up.
