Isaiah, we hardly knew ye.
Okay, so here's my whole thing with this Isaiah Washington debacle. When I read about it in the press or happen to catch something on TV about it, nobody seems to want to mention Patrick Dempsey in all of this. After all, he was the dude that Isaiah was calling the F-word first, you know what I mean?
Then again, with the way the papparazzi work these days, best to keep your mouth shut, kids.
And now, for better or worse, he's in rehab. So over at BetUS you can bet on what the fallout's going to be from Isaiah's comments by the end of the month, which is, you know, Wednesday. If you want to get in on this one, do it now! Here are your options:
He will be fired (+300): Knowing how Hollywood works this won't happen. Why? Because ratings have gone down and having a controversy on set, fueled by the media, will get people watching the show. He's not going anywhere.
He will quit (+1000): Only if the execs at ABC tell him to. Unless there's something other problem he's going to rehab for...? Oh, dear.
The show kill his character character off show (+500): That's akin to getting fired. In a really bad way, because it's like being in the office and you get an email saying you're fired. Not cool.
His cast mates demand he be fired (+5000) There really hasn't been a callout from the cast about this. I mean, Katherine Heigl said something at the Golden Globes about how he should just suck it up and admit that he said it, but I don't think it'll get any more loud than that as far as the cast.
His contract will be renewed (+2000) He won't get fired, but he probably won't be renewed either. But that's something that'll be at the end of the season, and not necessarily now.
His character will become gay on the show (+8000): Oh, don't we wish that would happen? Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that'll happen. Ever. Even if his contract is renewed.
He will become gay in real life (+10000): Nice try, but no.
He will be accused of a hate crime (+4000): Considering there was no physical violence, and since there hasn't been any talk about an accusation of such, it's pretty unlikely.
He will marry a man (+2000): That would be kind of hot, wouldn't it? I mean, say what you want about his comments (read: I thought they were disgusting), the guy isn't bad to look at. Why did I just say that?
He will appear on ‘The View’ (+200): They'd have to fire Rosie first before this would ever happen. I like Rosie, well, I did, until she became weirdly militant all of a sudden. Him being on there is a PR nightmare.
He will appear on Regis & Kelly (-200): Which brings us to the one thing that's most likely to happen. He'd be safe on there. But the thing is, would it be a real conversation? Regis doesn't strike me as the type of dude to get into a heavy conversation like that. Or maybe they're replace him with Clay in the next couple of days? That would be hot, people.
