Dancing With The Stars: Josie Maran, back to modeling!

See? We told you the models are always the first to go. We're sorry you're skinny and not fit enough to dance. Really, really sorry.

But the odds have really turned around this week: "Spider Man" Helio Castroneves is now the favorite at 3/1, people. Could the Indy car driver race his way to victory, or will Mel B.'s Spice kick into full gear next week? We'll be watching!

Dancing With The Stars, Episode 2: The Guys' Turn

The girls set the bar high on Monday night, but could the guys pull off being better than the ladies? Their odds are slightly less favored for them to win, but a man has won for the past two years. Can they keep up the momentum for the guys this year?

Cameron Mathison went first, and for being hunky soap star, is actually kind of a dork, which is endearing. His dancing? It was decent. He's staying put with his 21.

We knew that Floyd Mayweather was already athletic, but he had almost too much rhythm going on. We're not in a club, yo. He got an 18, which is not a good score at all. Slightly better than the model.

Helio Castroneves looked like he was in his own little world for a little bit there. But he was charming in that general European way that's just so cute. And it got him a 25, which is the second highest score of all the dancers so far. Impressive.

I have no idea who Albert Reed is, and I still don't. He seems really tall, and really lean muscled. And apparently, he's pretty good at dancing, because he got a 21, so he'll be in for awhile.

Mark Cuban, despite his injury, was almost a little too much, especially with the lip-syncing. But he's lost a lot of weight, which seems to be working to his advantage. His 21 keeps him in, too.

And finally, our neighbor (literally, his house is right across the street from our office here in Vegas) is Wayne Newton who danced like he could just get away with being Wayne Newton. And with the 19, not so much.

So, the surprise was Pretty Boy Floyd and his 18. Could that mean he's on the chopping block? If he gets eliminated early, this will definitely be a more interesting season. But our bet's going to be on Josie Moran. She's there, unfortunately, to be eye candy, and her skinny little self got a lot of sympathy points, but probably not enough to keep her going.

Dancing With The Stars, Episode 1: The Ladies Move It

A new season of Dancing With The Stars means that we'll get all kinds of awesomeness from all over the place. But after the first night, the girls are coming out a little fierce this season around.

First up was Jennie Garth, who actually looked really good for being the first one up. She probably got some tips from Ian Ziering and went as cheesy as possible. But it worked for her. She'll be staying in with her 21.

Josie Moran was next, and went the "just because I'm skinny doesn't mean I'm fit" excuse for her bad routine. And like we've been saying, the models don't do well early on. Yuck. Get her gone after that horrible 16.

There was some worry that Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan was going to be too hip-hop for her first dance, but she pulled it off with a 26. She won't be going anywhere.

Marie Osmond actually did pretty well, even though it was a bit of a slower performance than the younger girls. The massive lipsticks seems to have covered that up a little, though. Her 21 keeps her in, for now.

Mel B. got a 24, and it seemed pretty easy for her to pull it off, because, well, she's Scary Spice. And she's one of the favorites.

And Jane Seymour? We knew she was able to pull out the elegance from the get-go, and her 24 was so surprise at all.

How will the guys do on Tuesday? They have a lot of ground to catch up on.

Uh-O.J.! (Part Deux: The Juice Is Loose!)

I swear, this will be it for O.J. posts for the week. But you know you want to bet on him. You can't help yourself, right? Bodog has a couple of new odds up now that he's official out on bond and has a hearing next month:

Will O.J. Simpson accept a plea deal in his alleged armed robbery case: Yes at +150 and No at -200: The odds are leaning towards a No, but if this really goes to trial by jury, he'd almost have to take a plea deal, because they'd never be able to find a truly unbiased jury. Plus, if the evidence is mounting against him, then yeah, a plea deal would be the best route.

Will O.J. Simpson testify on his own behalf at his impending trial: Yes at +300 and No at -500: I'm not sure why the No has the edge here, but it would seem to me that if he can defend himself, why not? Then again, there is that weird tape circulating about the robbery where O.J.'s going off a little bit. The man is known for his temper.

Either way, it's going to make for some fascinating television all over again, right?

Evel Conquers All!...

But in a GOOD way! Last night, in a 5-2 vote, Evel Dick beat his 21 year old daughter, Daniele, for the $500,000 cash prize! I don’t know if I subconsciously expected this to happen, or if I am genuinely surprised by the outcome. But, both players were largely honest and had a solid strategy plan. They were unquestionably the most loyal alliance of all time, as a father-daughter combo should be!

I think the main determinant in Dick’s victory was the fact that he chose to never fly under the radar. He was always out there in everyone’s face – holding them accountable for their words. I definitely appreciated his honesty! People can get carried away with their “versions” of the truth – but Evel kept it real, yo!

It could be argued that Daniele, on the other hand, hid behind the “evel-ness” of her dad, which takes away some of her credibility as a player. I mean, she played brilliantly, except that her dad was the better of the two.

I will miss the great players of Big Brother 8 who kept me company 3 nights a week! Eric's crazy antics, Jessica's high-pitched voice, Mike's fine face, Jameka's holiness, and Dustin's princess self. I will not so much miss Jen's narcissism, Amber's swollen crying face, and Joe and Carol's inability to stop bad mouthing their enemies-turned-houseguests. Dick, Zach, and Daniele will always hold a special place in my heart for their dedication to the bunny hop endurance challenge!

I already can't wait for Big Brother 9! But I think in the meanwhile, I'll head on over to the land of "Prisonbreak" to visit my boyfriend, Wentworth Miller. I heard he wanted us to be locked up in a cell, whereupon someone will throw away the key! Oh yes!!

Uh-O.J.!

Let's take you back to 1995: one man proclaims his love for his friend on The Jenny Jones Show, then ends up getting killed by his crush. Michael Jordan returns to basketball (the first time). Oklahoma City. The Unibomber. Windows 95. Singer Selena is killed.

And, of course, "If the gloves don't fit, you must acquit."

Fast forward 12 years later: David Letterman on Oprah. Brett Farve is still the quarterback for the Packers. Windows Vista. Angelina Jolie may or may not be pregnant. Again.

And O.J. comes out (then doesn't) with "If I Did It," ends up losing the rights to publish it to the Brown and Goldman families, then the Goldman family wants to publish it, then is arrested at the Palace Station here in lovely Las Vegas.

Now the funny thing here in town isn't that OJ was arrested (and we get this "new and improved O.J." mugshot), but that he was arrested at the Palace Station, not exactly the most glamorous casino in Vegas. That doesn't mean it's not still awesome, at least from a Vegas gossip point of view.

So in honor of O.J. getting cuffed in our homebase, we bring back betUS's odds on what's next for the man, the myth, the legend named Orenthal James Simpson. Here are some highlights:

O.J. will rob a bank at +3000: You know, the way things are going, I'm surprised this doesn't have better odds by now. If he gets away this time, he probably will just end up walking into a bank, no mask, and just walk out with a bag of cash.
O.J. will next being a music career at +1500: M.C. O.J.? It's Federline-tastic.
O.J. will be #1 on the NY Times best-sellers list at +300: I would think this is more feasible, only because of the Brown and Goldman families being on Oprah last week and all the press that generated. With O.J. getting arrested again, it's almost too coincidental.
O.J. will reach top 5 on the NY times best sellers at -120: This has slightly better odds than being in the top 10, though it's more likely than being #1.

Your Emmys Wrap-Up

The Sopranos cast got a standing ovation at last night's show, and let's face it, I would've been standing up too.

(But that's only because it's finally over. Oh fine, and the show was good, I guess.)

Here's a post-Emmy recap of what you would've won, with the odds each category had going into the weekend:

Outstanding Drama Series -- The Sopranos (1/6): They had the odds that were pretty much saying they were a lock for the win, so if you had put down $6, you would have only won $1, plus your original $6. And a $1 profit isn't a whole lot to win.

Outstanding Comedy Series -- 30 Rock (9/5): This was my personal pick to win, even though it had some tough competition from The Office and Ugly Betty. And it would've been a nice little bit of cash: for every $5, you won $9 plus the original $5, so that's almost a double-up.

Outstanding Reality-competition Program -- The Amazing Race (11/10): This one was pretty much a given, because it wins every year. So, of course, the odds weren't geared towards getting you any money-- just that dollar.

Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour) -- South Park: Make Love, Not Warcraft (3/2): This show actually had a little competition from Emmy powerhouse The Simpsons. But the thing is, this particular episode was probably the best episode they've done since season one. Again, only $1 profit, so not a whole lot of money.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series -- Ricky Gervais - Extras (7/2): Ricky Gervais was my personal pick in this category, and that was even despite the powerhouse of Steve Carell. And a $5 profit isn't too shabby, either.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series -- America Ferrera - Ugly Betty (2/5): America was pretty much a lock for this category, especially after winning the Golden Globe. And for every $5, you would've just won $2, so the money there wasn't a huge profit margin.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series -- James Spader - Boston Legal (13/2): This was your big winner, especially if you bet as much as you could-- for every $2, you won $13. James was my personal pick (like, really personal), but I was pretty sure that James Gandolfini was going to take it. Just goes to show not all the locks are really that locked.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series -- Sally Field - Brothers & Sisters (9/5): Sally had pretty decent odds going in, but for me, she was the hedge bet for Edie Falco on The Sopranos. But, it's Sally Field. She's always good. And you got a $4 profit if you bet on her, which is nice. Not great, but nice.

One last Britney-inspired post. I swear. (For awhile, anyway.)

Let me just remind y'all that at betUS, you can still bet on the awesomely awesome train wreck that Britney Spears has become.

Remember: "She will get dropped by her label" is at +300, and it quite possibly could become a reality by the end of the year. If not, her label is dumb, y'all.

Just click on the link, click "Future/Props," then "Entertainment Props," then "Britney Spears Props."

Big Brother 8 is down to FINAL 3!

The final days of Big Brother 8 are (sadly) winding down.
I find the combination of the final 3 contestants to be somewhat surprising: Daniele, Dick, and Zach.

Don't get me wrong! Dick and Daniele are definitely 2 of the strongest players in the house, but why did no one take true initiative and get them out sooner? Perhaps the dynamic of their relationship (always arguing, bickering, and struggling to get along and understand each other) camouflaged their blood bond. Without a doubt, I would have targeted them from day 1.

I believe that Eric was the other strongest player in the house, but that he was somewhat side-tracked by completing America's tasks as well as pursuing a love interest in Jessica. Without those distractions, I am almost certain that Eric would be here in the final 3.

Unfortunately, doofus Zach is the 3rd member. I mean, I guess he has done SOMETHING right because he's sailed through the game and gotten to this point, but I just don't see myself routing for him to make it any further in the game. Let me remind you, this is a guy who prides himself on the fact that he thinks he looks ULTRA sexy in a pink bunny costume!

The houseguests are currently battling it out for their last chance at Head of Household in an endurance challenge involving holding a key over their head while jumping over a spinning rabbit! Enthralling, I know! The latest blogs say that Daniele fell out, so it's a fight between Dick, the chain smoker and Zach, the physically fit muscle bunny guy.

Either way, Dick is going to make it to the Finals. If Dick wins HOH, he will obviously vote to evict Zach. If Zach wins HOH, there is no way he would leave himself up to compete in the Finals with Daniele, who has won 2 HOH's and has tied the all-time Big Brother record for winning the most POV's! Thus, he must evict her if he wins the HOH competition. Essentially, Dick is fighting to keep his daughter in this competition only for her to ultimately beat him in the finals. This guy is crazy!! If he gave up now, Zach could evict Daniele, and Dick could actually have a shot of beating Zach in the finals. It's going to be interesting! Oh, the things people do for money!

Go place your bet on who you think will win Big Brother 8!
Right now, Bodog has Daniele listed as most likely to win at 2/3.
Next likely is Zach at 2/1 and
Finally, Dick is at 3/1.

Will Rocky fight another day?

There's something about Rocky that the kids just love. The last movie actually got decent reviews and did pretty well at the box office. But was it the last movie? Are there rumblings of one more?

betUS has a quick prop up on whether there's going to be another Rocky movie. We know Sly says "no more," but come on, this is Hollywood. They love to milk stuff. Yes is at +1000, so if you think you can make a couple of bucks, throw in $5 or something. Look at it as an investment.
