Betting Dancing With the Stars, Season 5

By Jocelyn

I know that for me, personally, there will never be a Dancing with the Stars champion whom I will love as passionately as I love Apolo Anton Ohno. I also know that this season there is a DREAM TEAM of a Spice Girl and a man who wishes he were a Spice Girl. And I know we'll be keeping an update on the odds all season long!

Where to bet on Dancing with the Stars, Season 5

Your best bet for Dancing With The Stars odds is Bodog. They keep their odds up for the entire season. Click here to start betting at Bodog today!

Melanie Brown (aka Scary Spice) and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
So, this is the dream team. Melanie Brown is a trained entertainer with a ton of dance performance experience and LADIES LOVE MAKSIM. These two should tear up the floor with high energy, very sexy, clean dances. The only variable is whether Scary Spice is back in shape after having recently given birth and if Maksim's pissy personality can stay under wraps so he doesn't get a backhand from Scary.
Opening Week Odds: 4 to 1
Week 2 Odds: 5 to 1
Week 3 Odds: 5 to 1
Week 4 Odds: 5 to 1
Week 5 Odds: 5 to 1
Week 6 Odds: 4 to 1
Week 7 Odds: 2 to 1
Week 8 Odds: 2 to 1
Week 9 Odds: 2 to 1 (click to bet Scary Spice)

Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough
He's a race car driver nicknamed "Spider Man," and he's impossibly hot. We kind of think America will respond to a) the fact that he's so nice to look at and b) his good, middle America values (Indy car driver, nicknamed after one of America's superheroes). He's also paired with last season's winner and America's dollbaby Julianne Hough. We think that, unless he has two left feet, he'll have some staying power.
Opening Week Odds: 9 to 2
Week 2 Odds: 5 to 2
Week 3 Odds: 3 to 2
Week 4 Odds: 3 to 2
Week 5 Odds: 3 to 2
Week 6 Odds: 3 to 2
Week 7 Odds: 1 to 1
Week 8 Odds: 1 to 1
Week 9 Odds: 1 to 1 (click to bet for the Indy car driver)

Jennie Garth and Derek Hough
Oh how I love Jennie Garth (and so you do, admit it.). And she's paired with Julianne Hough's brother, Derek, so America will instantly love him, too. I really feel that this may be the year of the woman on Dancing With the Stars, and Jennie has a great a chance as any of them if she's as captivating while dancing as she is while seducing Grant Show in season two of 90210. We think if you're placing early season bets to try to win on a long shot, Jennie's a good bet.
Opening Week Odds: 12 to 1
Week 2 Odds: 11 to 1
Week 3 Odds: 11 to 1
Week 4 Odds: 11 to 1
Week 5 Odds: 13 to 1
Week 6 Odds: 13 to 1
Week 7 Odds: 5 to 1
Week 8 Odds: 11 to 2
Week 9 Odds: 4 to 1 (click to bet on the 90210 princess)

Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts
What we know: Marie Osmond has a long performance history of singing and dancing. What we also know: She may be a little crazy. What we wonder about: What's she like on stage without Donnie? What we're scared of: Her massive lipstick.
Opening Week Odds: 11 to 1
Week 2 Odds: 10 to 1
Week 3 Odds: 10 to 1
Week 4 Odds: 21 to 2
Week 5 Odds: 21 to 2
Week 6 Odds: 21 to 2
Week 7 Odds: 5 to 1
Week 8 Odds: 5 to 1
Week 9 Odds: 7 to 2 (click to bet on Marie Osmond)

Kicked Off The Dance Floor
Week 1: Josie Maran and Alec Mazo
Odds At Elimination: 6 to 1
It was inevitable. Models do not do well. And poor Alec, he really did get shafted, not only because he got the model, but because she was dumb enough to equate being thin with being healthy, and that because she's pretty she could have some kind of coordination. But a score of 16 the first week isn't something you come back from.

Week 2:Albert Reed and Anna Trebunskaya
Opening Week Odds: 21 to 2
Odds At Elimination: 10 to 1
It was a surprise and not a surprise: a surprise in that Wayne Newton with a 15 clearly should been coming home to Vegas right now (we hear his penguins miss him anyway), and Prince Albert also danced decently this week. It was not a surprise that the other model on the show got sent home the second week. Them's the breaks, kid. America loves its old folks.

Week 3:Wayne Newton and Cheryl Burke
Opening Week Odds: 19 to 2
Week 2 Odds: 12 to 1
Odds At Elimination: 13 to 1 America had a weak spot for Mr. Vegas in week 2, but finally came around in week 3 and decided the fake moustashe and ponytail was just too creepy. And if you looked at Cheryl's face on Monday night, you would've been able to clearly see she just wanted to go home. Come back to Vegas, neighbor!

Week 4:Floyd Mayweather and Karina Smirnoff
Opening Week Odds: 4 to 1
Week 2 Odds: 11 to 2
Week 3 Odds: 11 to 2
Odds At Elimination: 11 to 2 He had the good early odds for being the token athlete this season (and being a boxer on top of it!), but he just couldn't get the charm that the rest of the celebrities were bringing in spades when their technique wasn't good. We'll miss you, Floyd.

Week 5:Mark Cuban and Kym Johnson
Opening Week Odds: 21 to 2
Week 2 Odds: 23 to 2
Week 3 Odds: 12 to 1
Week 4 Odds: 12 to 1
Odds At Elimination: 13 to 1 On the one hand, we were surprised he didn't get eliminated early. On the other hand, he danced just well enough to keep him going from week to week. But when we're halfway through the season, when it's pretty obvious who's good and who's not, he really didn't have a chance, no matter how much weight he lost or how TV whorey he was.

Week 6:Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas
Opening Week Odds: 17 to 2
Week 2 Odds: 3 to 1
Week 3 Odds: 11 to 4
Week 4 Odds: 2 to 1
Week 5 Odds: 5 to 4
Odds At Elimination: 1 to 1 This was so ridiculous, we can't even talk about it. Boo America, boo on you.

Week 7:Jane Seymour and Tony Dovolani
Opening Week Odds: 11 to 1
Week 2 Odds: 21 to 2
Week 3 Odds: 21 to 2
Week 4 Odds: 10 to 1
Week 5 Odds: 10 to 1
Week 6 Odds: 10 to 1
Week 7 Odds: 9 to 2
We loved her. We really did. But when it comes down to her and Marie Osmond, who had just lost her dad, and has thousands of fans buying her dolls on QVC, it's a downhill battle against two old broads that just isn't sustainable.

Week 8:Cameron Mathison and Edyta Sliwinska
Opening Week Odds: 7 to 1
Week 2 Odds: 8 to 1
Week 3 Odds: 8 to 1
Week 4 Odds: 8 to 1
Week 5 Odds: 10 to 1
Week 6 Odds: 10 to 1
Week 7 Odds: 7 to 1
Odds At Elimination: 5 to 1
You know what? We weren't sure of Cameron at the beginning: he was a soap star, a little dorky, and we weren't sure he could pull off any kind of dance. And then, every week, he just seemed to get so much better. And we liked his tight pants and crazy routines. But we knew in the end he wouldn't make it all the way. We'll really miss the pants, though.
