Yes. Flavor of Love is coming back for a third season, and really, it warms us up inside. Kinda. Though we wonder if it's going to spinoff any more new shows this year, which seems unlikely. But we can dream.
The question is: are you going to watch?
Bodog has the odds on whether more people will watch the Season 3 finale than the Season 3 finale. I mean, it's certainly possible if they have enough characters this season. The Yes – Over 7.5 million is at -150 and the No – Under 7.5 million is at +110, which means that it's pretty likely that more people will be watching this year.
Duane "Dog" Chapman is like the crazy mulleted uncle that shows up to Thanksgiving chain smoking Marlboro reds on the front porch and telling stories about almost killing a man, while sipping on a Crown Royal on the rocks. Then, the drunker he gets, the more he talks about some road trip he took with an old Vietnam buddy in the 80's and how he met some beautiful coke dealer chick in an Arizona biker bar and that advice she gave him that changed his life but can't remember what she said.
Or something.
But being of that generation (aka my parents and uncles), there's still a bit of residual casual racism going on, even when the folks of that generation have friends and family of a different race than them. It's unfortunate, but true. Anyway, for the second time, with a different son, a tape of Dog on the phone was sold to the National Enquirer, where he spouted off the N-word without even batting an eye. At first, A & E suspended production of his hit reality show, and last week they straight up cancelled it, not saying whether or not they would bring it back. (Though, with the writers' strike, they may have to rethink that.)
Bodog has the odds on whether or not A & E will bring Dog's show back on the air. Woof. Yes is at +120 and No is at -160, which means that it's not looking good that you'll be seeing Dog on TV anytime soon. No more dramatic monologues in Hawaiian Pidgin about how he's gonna catch a brah? Say it ain't so!
And just as a small postscript, here's Dog on Larry King, all weepy-like:
If you haven't caught up on the episodes leading up to the finale, DON'T read this post, it'll have spoilers!
Now that that's out of the way, BetUS still has up a few Heroes props before tonight's finale. Actually, you might be able to get some money, but it's a little tricky.
Will Sylar die and not come back to life? Well, he hasn't technically "died" yet, and all the signs point to him and Peter having a "nuke-off," as it looks like in all the commercials for tonight's episode. With Yes at -110 and No at -130, the odds point to Sylar not making all Lazarus-like before the end of the show.
Will M Suresh die and not come back to life? Well, he almost died when Sylar had him nailed (? or something) to the roof of his apartment, but Peter helped him out. And then he was carted off to help with the "tracking system," and somehow donating blood to a little girl made things so much better. Um, yeah. Yes is at +120 and No is at -160, which means that he's not going anywhere, according to the odds.
Will P Petrelli die and not come back to life? He almost died twice-- once by Sylar almost cutting his brain open and then by Sylar lodging that glass in the back of his head, which Claire took care of. So really, if Sylar never figures out that he can absorb Peter's ability to regenerate, Peter's got a chance to take some damage and kick some ass. With Yes at even money and No at -140, odds are Peter's taking one for the team (and most of New York with him).
Will Niki S. overthrow Jessica and regain control? Here's the tricky prop, because in the last episode, Niki did gain control in Linderman's apartment, right before DL killed him (or reportedly killed him-- I mean, he's got healing powers, after all). So the way things are going, Yes at -180 is a sure bet. With No at +135 anyway, the odds made it pretty unlikely that it wasn't.
I couldn't be more excited about a Monday night! My favorite show of this past season is back for its final 5 episodes, and I'm ready. Are you?
Bodog has a slew of props on the final 5 episodes of the first season of Heroes that you can bet on right now:
Will Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) die and not come back to life in the final 5 episodes of Heroes season 1? I don't think he's going to die at all, considering he's like Sylar in that he absorbs other people's talents. Bodog has Yes at +120 and No at -160, and I agree with No being the better bet.
Will Sylar (Zachary Quinto) die and not come back to life in the final 5 episodes of Heroes season 1? This one's a little harder, because Sylar's looking for Claire so he can take her healing abilites and try to become immortal, and he's been getting close to that happening. He's been very slick so far in making himself a chameleon, changing to hide himself. But I don't think he'll die. Or even if he does die, he'll find somebody who he can switch bodies with or something. With Yes at -110 and No at -130, it's a tough call, but I'd go with No, even though the Yes is the slightly better prop.
Will Niki Sanders (Ali Larter) overthrow Jessica and regain control of her body in the final 5 episodes of Heroes season 1? This one seems like it's almost too easy, right? Jessica's been in charge for so many episodes, I've been wondering where Niki went, and even in the scenes where she shows up, I kinda want Jessica back. But before the break happened, Niki was starting to sabotage Jessica a little bit. Yes is at -180 and No is at +140, and I would go with the Yes prop on that one.
The final 2 props have to do with a possible Battle Royale against Hiro and Sylar: Will Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) battle to the death in the final 5 episodes of Heroes season 1? It does seem like it's going down that road, doesn't it? They only crossed paths in that diner that one time, and if Sylar ever picked up on Hiro's talent, it'd probably be lights out for everybody, right? Yes is at +150 and No is at -200, and as much as I would like to see it (as well as a bunch of people who watch it, probably) it's not likely to happen. But it's a good hedge bet if you want to do a 2-fer with this next prop:
If Heroes characters Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) battle to the death, who will win? You know, I don't really know who would win this one. If you had asked me this earlier in the season, I probably would've bet on Sylar. But with Hiro already coming back from the future looking all badass and with no Japanese accent, it makes one wonder what happens to him when he finally gets that sword. Watch out, Sylar. With Sylar+300 and Hiro-500, if it does happen, Hiro is your man to beat in this Battle Of The Century.
You remember the show The Sorpranos, right? Did you know it's not quite over yet? I didn't even know that it was still on. Every year it seems like it'll come back on, and it doesn't. And then suddenly it's on. I don't know how to keep up with these TV seasons that get all split up.
So over at our ever-reliable Bodog, you can bet on a couple of Sorpranos-related props for Part 2 of Season 6. There were 2 parts to season 6? WTF? And I thought Lost was so messed up.
The first prop is whether or not Tony Sorprano, played by James Gandolfini, will get knocked off in these final episodes, and the Yes at +150 and No at -200 says that it's pretty likely that he's not having a gun to his head anytime soon.
The other prop is about all the major characters in the show and who will be getting whacked first. Because now that the show is almost over, you know someone's gonna die, right? So I'm not going to list all of them, but here are some highlights:
Lorraine Bracco (Dr. Jennifer Melfi) at 7/1 Steven Van Zandt (Silvio "Sil" Dante) at 8/1 Jamie-Lynn Sigler (Meadow Mariangela Soprano) at 12/1 Robert Ller (Anthony "A.J." Soprano, Jr.) at 15/1
So do you think the shrink is gonna get it? The rest of the family's pretty safe. You think Sil? Check out Bodog and see who else could get whacked this season!
Well, season 5 of The Simple Life doesn't even start filming until next month, and doesn't even premiere until April of next year, but Paris and Nicole were photographed together last week, eating of all things. BetUS wants to know what'll happen on the next season of the "reality" show:
Nicole & Paris end friendship during 5th season +500 Nicole & Paris will have a cat fight on the show +300 Nicole will propose to Paris on the show +1800 Paris will propose to Nicole on the show +1800
I really want to see a catfight! Who would you bet on in that one? I'd take Paris-- at least she eats every once in awhile.
While summer reality keeps you occupied, you can take advantage of your extra stash of cocktail cash and bet on what new TV shows will or won't make it next season. BetOnSports has your odds on which shows might get canned in September! Bodog's got a crazy odd up, and maybe there's a rumor going around that I just don't know about.
Will Brandy, former star of Moesha and co-host of America's Got Talent, replace Star Jones as co-host on The View.
Yes -180 No +140
Let me just say that Brandy going head-to-head with Elizabeth Hasselbeck would be enough to make me want to watch that show, and that's saying a lot since Joy Behar and Ba Ba Walters collectively make my head feel like it's exploding.
Last week I moaned and groaned about how much I hated America's Got Talent, Hasselhof not withstanding. But apparently America LOVED it. It was the highest rated summer debut. I think Armageddon is coming.
America's Got Talent? How about America's got Idiots?
Yeah, I admit it. Last night I watched the reruns of America's Got Talent on Bravo. People, seriously. Even whomever wins this hasn't really won because their reputation will be forever blurred by the image in my mind of old folks singing and skinny guys juggling tennis rackets and that guy -- THAT ONE. You know the one. The world's oldest male stripper. That's actually how he introduced himself.
Bodog wants to know if Denis Leary's character on Rescue Me will be killed off this season. I like Denis Leary. I don't like to see him killed off anywhere.
Being that today was the Katie Couric's last day at NBC, I thought I'd offer up some daytime talk that you can actually get some cash in on. Meredith Viera is taking Katie's place on Today, and Rosie O'Donnell is replacing Meredith at The View. Now the rumor is that Star Jones doesn't like Rosie, and may be leaving the show. What's recently been going around is that Gayle King, Oprah's best friend and once daytime talk show hostess herself, is supposed to replace her. Here's what Bodog has to say:
I mean, it's almost even money. It's pretty much no, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. The other rumor going around is that Star is looking into divorce lawyers, and who knows if she wants to be on TV when she's divorcing her gay husband. And Gayle doesn't seem the kind to start crap with people when Rosie's already good at it. Got a couple of bucks? Check it.
It's the final season of the hit show. Did you know that Bodog has odds up on who will be elected President on the show before it goes off the air forever? It's Jimmy Smits vs. Alan Alda for President of the free world-- who will take it?
I know, I know, it's fictional. But really, aren't celebrities fictional too, sometimes? It's something different to bet on TV, with all those reality shows sucking up our time. Try it today!
If you were on the HollyWagers Weekly email list today...
Then you would have gotten hot info on the odds on which Desperate Housewife will be killed off in an upcoming episode. If you're not on the list, you'll have to come back and check in tomorrow to see the odds on which Wysteria Lane resident is headed to a dark fate.
May sweeps may be 6 months away, but it's gonna get ugly! Right now, Bodog's got the lines on which one of the lovely ladies is moving out permanently! Which one will bite the bucket? Numbers to die for!
Last year, those clever writers on the hit Emmy award-winning Lost killed off Boone. The creators and writers of our favorite show have said someone else is going to be killed this season!. How major of a character is it? This week Bodog gives you the numbers on the characters' chances. Get in on the mystery!
